Gluten Free Stir Fry Cafè Spicy Noodles Copycat Recipe
I love, love, love the spicy noodles at Stir Fry Cafè! However, since the move to North Carolina they don't have the restaurant chain here. So the only time I get my bottomless bowl of noodles is when we visit Tennessee, which isn't too often. So I've spent the last year trying to re-create this dish. Seriously though, after a lot of trial and error, I finally got it right! It also turns out mine is a lot better than the original plus it's gluten free!

Southwestern Egg Roll Disaster.
Okay, I love to cook, I really do. Mr. and I love trying something new and I'm always on pinterest pinning new meal ideas. Some have worked out and well others ... not so much. Last nights recipe was an epic disaster!
We attempted Budget Savvy Diva's Southwestern Egg Rolls with Avocado Ranch and it didn't work out... at all.

(here we are feeling defeated and eating ice cream)
The egg rolls stuck to the pan (and we greased the entire thing before cooking) and the ones that survived were super chewy. They were so chewy they were uneatable and we ended up having to toss every single one away (and we made about 10 so we would have five a piece). The "avocado ranch" was a disaster too, it's not really their season anyway. So unfortunately, we ended up with huge mess and how can anyone mess up ranch dressing?! We did.
What little of the inside filling we had left over, I ended up heating up in a small sauce pan and throwing more cheese on it and taking out the large burrito skins we had left over from making burritos a few nights ago. Essentially I just made big burritos. But those turned out so it wasn't a total loss at least. :)

Recipe Share :: Venison Chili
Mr. Webber does a lot of hunting in the seasons, so I've had to grow accustom to cooking with a lot of venison (deer) meet in the last six years of our marriage. Sometimes I still can't get over the idea of eating poor sweet Bambi, but he is pretty delicious to say the least...sorry to you animal lovers out there, we have to eat too!
So let's get started!
(based off of Wendy's style Chili)
Ingerdients
- 4 lbs Venison meet
- 2 large onions
- 4 bell peppers
- 4 celery stalks
- 2 tablespoons galic
- 1 extra large can of dark red kidney beans, drained.
- 2 cans tomatoes with green chilies, drained.
- 1 extra large can of stewed tomatoes, drained.
- 4 cans plain tomatoes sauce
- 2 cans ranch style beans, not drained.
- 2 packets McMormick Mild Seasoning
- Regular cooking pot
- Large Stock Pot
Chop up your onions, celery, and bell peppers and set aside.
Cook your venison until brown in a regular sized cooking pot.
Once done, combine all of your vegetables in your large stock pot cooking until onions are see through and peppers and celery are soft.
Once they are soft begin to add in all your canned items and packets of mild seasonings.
Let cook or simmer on a low to medium heat for about three-four hours - this would also be great in the crock pot set on low too! Place into a bowl add a spoon and enjoy! :-)
Recipe Japanese Shrimp Sauce
Okay I have mastered the secret to white sauce also known as shrimp sauce or yum yum sauce.
It's really big here in Japanese Steakhouses (though it's not Japanese at all)
It's amazing on Hibatchi, fried rice, etc. etc.
There are a lot of recipes online that are complete mishaps, BUT I tinkered around and I finally got it!
Japanese White sauce (also known as shrimp/yumyum sauce) 1-2 cup(s) mayonnaise (hellmann's is the best I've used so far I've tried other brands and it just doesn't come out right)
3 tablespoons sugar (I used pure cane sugar)
1-2 tablespoons rice vinegar
2 tablespoons melted butter
2 tablespoons of the heavy syrup from peaches in a can
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 - 1 tablespoon ketchup (to give it that pink-orange color)
1-3 teaspoons paprika
1-3 teaspoons garlic powder
You just have to fix and adjust it to your liking, but this IS the corrected recipe. It's took me several days to get this right, because it's such a mystery. Enjoy!
